Risa Ennis Family Meditation and Counselling Services is a practice that helps individuals overcome life’s struggles through family mediation and grief counselling sessions. I practice a one-on-one, hands-on approach to each and every client, providing them with sessions that are tailor-made based on their needs and goals.
I have been helping clients and their children, as an Accredited Family Mediator and Grief Counsellor, navigate separation and divorce.
I have been a member of the Ontario Association for Family Mediation (OAFM) since 2000 as well as the Arbitration Institute of Ontario, President’s Circle. Since 1996, I have also been a Certified Parent Educator who helps adults with the daunting task of parenting, separation, and divorce.
In 2005, I finished my studies, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counselling, specialising in Grief Counselling from the Interfaith Seminary in New Rochelle, New York. I also hold a Bereavement Educator’s Certificate from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Social Work.
Academic literature has found that the severity of post-marital conflict is the biggest determinant of a child’s overall well-being. This is what motivated me to get into a line of work that educates, supports, and motivates parents to work together for the betterment of their children.
My mediation and counselling services not only guide your family down a better road to healing but to also lessen conflicts between co-parents in the long term in order to achieve the best possible results for their kids.
